Quattro Linee
For the Graphic Days festival, in collaboration with Quattrolinee, we transformed a massive ledwall into a touchscreen using LIDAR tracking. An external web app collected user-submitted phrases about love into a live database.
Our TouchDesigner system continuously read these new phrases and released them as individual letters within a real-time particle simulation. Every letter was fully interactive, subjected to physics and user touch.
If a user engaged with a letter and held it still for about 3 seconds, the particle would expand to randomly reveal a complete, previously submitted love phrase from the database. Releasing it would instantly return it to being a chaotic letter in the simulation.
The entire interactive experience, combining LIDAR skeleton tracking with heavy fluid particle simulations and live database fetching, was engineered and rendered completely in real-time in TouchDesigner.
